Manaslu (8156m) is the world’s 8th highest mountain at 8,163 metres (26,781 ft) above sea level. It is located in the Mansiri Himal, part of the Nepalese Himalayans, in the west-central part of Nepal. Like Cho Oyu, it’s a good mountain to test extreme high altitude climbing before taking on the Everest challenge. Manaslu is largely a non-technical climb when compared to other 8000m peaks, however, its avalanche-prone slopes mean that careful climbing is required throughout the expedition.
